Confirming to accuracy as recommended in SSPC-PA 2-73T, ISO 2178-1982 (E), ASTM B 499-87 and ASTM D 1186-87.
Measures the thickness of Non-magnetic coating on magnetic base.
When a magnetic base is brought near to 'U' magnet the leakage magnetic flux gets changed. This change is measured by the deflection of a magnetic needle placed in the flux area. The deflection on needle is calibrated to indicate the air gap (non-magnetic coating) between 'U' magnet & magnetic base.
Can be used only with magnetic base like Iron, Nickel, Cobalt, magnetic Stainless Steel etc.
Can check the Plating like Gold, Copper, Zinc, Tin, Chromium, Hard Chromium, Lead etc, Coating like Paint, Resineous coating, Lining like Resin, Rubber, Fibre Glass etc, Film like Plastic, Metal foils etc, Parkerising, Metalising & Insulation coating.
